As part of our third grad Guidance classes we have been visiting about belonging as part of the curriculum.  It reflects back to the "Circle of Courage".  As part of belonging we discuss how our families are important, and how we all interact with one another and get along with each family member.  We also discuss how we all have certain things we can do as part of the family unit.  They drew pictures of their family and also wrote about their family.  They focus on how their family members are different or alike, and the unique things about their family they feel are important.  They then have a chance to discuss their pictures and tell about their families if they choose.  This is a very fun activity for the students and gives them a chance to not only talk about their own family, but learn from others about their families.
